The 2019 mockbuster Monster Island of The Asylum is ironically released around the time of Godzilla King of the Monsters. The movie is about Monster Island, where a monster may become known, and who will be kind to the island.


This movie is about an asylum. It has a budget that's about the same as a large kid's meal. The Asylum uses it well, focusing on just a few characters and keeping its biggest stars on one set, where they can all be shot during lunch. However, lest we forget this is the kaiju genre and, well, that is sort of how they (posted) go, so maybe The Asylum won't do such an awful job with it.
